Decca’s Bumpin’ Basement parties offer a late-night happy hour every Friday

Decca‘s chill Cellar Lounge is a great place to take guests from out of town, or even a first date, when you’re looking to impress. Sure, Louisville has its neighborhood taverns and fancy bourbon bars, but this spot fits somewhere in between — and it’s cool to drink downstairs.

Now there’s another reason to stop by Decca on a Friday night, as chef Annie Pettry and her crew offer up the Bumpin’ Basement parties, featuring a late-night happy hour, as well as music spun by DJs JP Source and Narwhal, plus occasional guest artists. They’re dubbing it a “dance party for grown-ups.”

(Chef Pettry, by the way, was on this season’s “Top Chef” on Bravo.)

Sponsored by Buffalo Trace and Wheatley Vodka, the drink specials include $5 select draft beers, $5 house wine, $6 Old Fashioneds and Gimlets, $4 shots of the aforementioned bourbon and vodka, and a $5 Hollar special that features a beer and a shot.

(In this writer’s opinion, Buffalo Trace makes a savory sipping bourbon, so sip, don’t shoot. And $4 a pour is an excellent deal.)

Best of all, the Bumpin’ Basement party is free of charge and starts at 10 p.m.

Decca is located at 812 E. Market St.
