If you’re like us, your bike has been sitting in the garage collecting dust and serving as an apartment complex for spiders. We have no excuses, because it’s summer after all.

But alas, it’s time to evict those eight-legged tenants, pump up the tires and head over to the Germantown/Schnitzelburg/Shelby Park area for another installment of CycLOUvia on Sunday, Aug. 19.

This will be the third time CycLOUvia has been held in the Three Points area and the 14th event since its inception in 2012. It was created by Mayor Greg Fischer as part of his Healthy Hometown Movement.

Unlike the last time it was in the Germantown neighborhood, this route will be linear, shutting down the Goss Avenue and Logan Street, from Texas to Kentucky streets, to all cars. By doing this, organizers are hoping to highlight the growing business districts in the area.

Not only will the streets be full of cyclists, runners, walkers, hoopers, dancers, skaters and unicyclists, but businesses like The Post, Four Pegs, The Pearl, Red Top Hotdogs and others will be open to thirsty and hungry revelers.

CycLOUvia will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19.
