The design firm Mad*Pow is hosting a Louisville “User Experience” Meetup on Thursday, July 9, from 6-8 p.m. to discuss “Becoming UX Generalist or Specialist or Both.” Mad*Pow creative director David Thomas will lead the discussion.
Thomas tells Insider, “My talk will focus on educating everyone in attendance about what (UX) User Experience really is in order to help crystallize what has become a very ambiguous term/neologism. So if you have ever said ‘UX’ in a sentence before, whether you are a businessman, salesman, designer and technologist, this talk should help you to really understand what that means, and help you to use that term in context moving forward.”
The Louisville UX group is open to anyone and meets monthly. Discussion topics include: user-centered design, lean UX, UI design, IA, usability, research, new tools, and the importance of getting your ideas out of the building.
Thomas told us there are already nearly 40 people signed up to attend the event, but there is still room available. The event will be held at Mad*Pow’s NuLu offices at 744 E. Market St.
Mad*Pow is based in Portsmouth, N.H., but has offices in Louisville.
