For 42 years now, the Kentucky Restaurant Association’s Louisville chapter has hosted Taste of Louisville, a casual event that offers up a wide selection of the city’s best food and drinks, all in the name of supporting a local charity. This year’s foodie extravaganza is next Wednesday, and organizers say there are still tickets left.
Since the first Taste held in 1974, the event has raised more than $250,000 for local charities. This year’s charity partners are Seven Counties Services and Harbor House, which will receive a portion of ticket sales and auction items.
More than 50 local restaurants and spirits companies will be offering up samples, including Bourbons Bistro, Against the Grain, Bulleit Bourbon, Joella’s Hot Chicken, Napa River Grill, River House, Dish on Market, Copper & King’s, Uptown Café and many, many more.
There’s also food and drink contests voted on by a panel of judges, including Insider’s Sara Havens (aka The Bar Belle), who will judge the spirits competition, naturally.
Taste of Louisville will be held at the Louisville Executive Aviation hangar at Bowman Field, 2700 Gast Blvd., from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Tickets are available online for $60 through Tuesday, or $65 at the door.
