After 10 successful seasons as Actors Theatre‘s managing director, Jennifer Bielstein announced her departure from the company today, revealing she has accepted a new position at Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater. She’ll take on the role of managing director starting in April.
“Actors Theatre is an incredibly strong and important organization, and Louisville is a wonderfully welcoming and supportive city,” said Bielstein in a press release. “I am grateful for the experience I have had here working in collaboration with (artistic director) Les Waters, our staff, board, artists, donors, volunteers and the broad array of people who are active in this community. I am proud of all we have accomplished together and I know that Actors Theatre is in a great position going forward.”
Bielstein has a passion for serving both audiences and artists, and she was able to help steer Actors through tough economic times during her 10-year tenure. According to the press release, she made strategic investments in software and analysis to help grow both audience numbers and donors.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to work with Jennifer during my time here at Actors Theatre,” said Waters. “She has shown great passion and dedication and will be tremendously missed. Her arts experience and leadership is unparalleled. The Guthrie Theater is very lucky to have her join their team.”
Guthrie Theater was founded in 1963 and has grown to become one of the most respected theaters in the country.
