Last month, Insider Louisville learned restaurateur Kevin Grangier had abandoned plans to develop an upscale seafood restaurant at the corner of Shelbyville Road and Hurstbourne Lane. When we reached out to learn the reason, Grangier told IL, “I’m in the throes of doing another location, which I think is better for my idea.”
He expected details to be finalized by Thanksgiving, and it looks as though that’s come to pass: Business First reports Grangier is taking over the massive KT’s Restaurant at the corner of Lexington Road and Grinstead Drive, effective Nov. 21.
Residents of the surrounding neighborhoods — which include the Highlands, Cherokee Triangle, Crescent Hill, Clifton, Seneca Gardens and Irish Hill — should be very excited, as Grangier is the man behind the wildly successful Village Anchor in the heart of quaint (but far from the city) Anchorage.
According to Business First, Grangier will keep all staff in place and the restaurant will continue to operate as KT’s for now; however, he is considering changing the concept next year.
Earlier this year, IL reported that Grangier intended to transform the former Garrett’s Restaurant on Shelbyville Road into Kevin’s Fish & Lure. That plan is now defunct, and we look forward to learning more about his vision for the KT’s space. We’ll let you know as we know more…
