Beginning Friday, grabbing a six-pack of beer after work is going to get a whole lot easier, at least in the Highlands. Bourbon & Belles — a full-service, drive-thru convenience and liquor store located off Bardstown Road near Douglass Loop — is set to open Friday, Oct. 16, and patrons can just pull right in, place their order and pay without having to get out of their car.
This past weekend during the Highlands’ Belknap Festival, Bourbon & Belles held a grand opening of sorts where staff answered questions and took curious neighbors on tours. Operations manager Elliott Bracksieck seemed genuinely excited to bring this concept to Louisville, and he has lots of plans for the 6,000-square-foot space at 2232 Bardstown Road.
Bracksieck says the store will have more than 100 varieties of domestic, craft and import beer as well as a full liquor store featuring 80-90 bourbons. The liquor store is enclosed in glass and sits off to the right side of the building. On Saturday, only a handful of bourbons lined the wooden shelves and the beer coolers were empty, but he says they’ll be stocked come Friday.
Bracksieck wants to hold beer, wine and bourbon tastings in the shop from time to time and encourages foot traffic in addition to drive-thru service. He also hopes to add a growler station eventually, but wants to open up and gauge customer demand. Patrons will be able to download an app soon where you can place your order, select a pick-up time and choose the Express Lane for faster service.
Bourbon & Belles also serves as a convenience store and will offer everything from fountain Coke and bottled water to Tums, dog food, cat litter, snacks, napkins, diapers, laundry detergent and anything else you might need that’ll save you a trip to the grocery store.
Bourbon & Belles will be open starting Friday, Oct. 16, from 7 a.m.-midnight, Saturday from 9 a.m.-midnight, Sunday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
