BLF2014_FINAL-LOGO_BLUELETTThe sixth annual Buy Local Fair takes over the Water Tower property this Sunday. The ground may be a little soggy from a couple days of rain, but currently it looks like it will be partly cloudy and in the low 70s. The event is hosted by the Louisville Independent Business Association.

This year the fair hosts more than 170 local businesses, artists, farmers, restaurants, food trucks and community organizers — all vendors are locally owned.

Featured events include: an Iron Chef-style cooking competition between RYE and Decca, live music from BookshelfKarsten Nelson and Small Time Napoleon. You can also look forward to live Zumba hosted by instructors.

There will be a raffle tent again, where you can bid on a variety of packages from local businesses.

The event is free, as is the bicycle valet, and is from noon to 6 p.m. It’s $5 to park.

Also open until 3 p.m. during the event is the newly restored Louisville Water Tower, which now features the WaterWorks Museum. Admission is $5 for adults. The interior restoration of the 154-year-old building took more than a year. Watch this video about the restoration, and you’ll definitely want to drop in during the fair:
