Usually when you go to leave for dinner and drinks, you get the guilt stare from your dog. “Take me with you!” he pleads with those sad eyes, as you throw him a treat and shut the door.

dogcostumeIt’s a battle most dog owners face every day, but on Saturday, Oct. 29, you’ll be able to bring your best friend to the bar with you as Bluegrass Brewing Co. hosts its fourth annual Dogtoberfest. The event is a benefit for local dog rescue organization Saving Sunny, and along with food and beer, there’ll be plenty of things for both two-legged and four-legged mammals.

Participating vendors include Barkstown Road, Rudy Greens dog food, Summer Shade dog soap, Hi-Five Doughnuts and more, plus, there will be dogs available for adoption in case you need more happiness in your life.

Dogtoberfest runs from 1-6 p.m. A dog costume contest begins at 3:30 p.m., and music by Double Down starts at 4. It’s free and open to all. BBC is located at 3929 Shelbyville Road.
