The inaugural ARTxFM Record Fair will be held at Dreamland on Saturday, June 14, featuring record vendors from all over the region.
In addition, several private collections will be unveiled for the first time, which could mean anything from a super-rare Beatles “Butcher” cover to several scratched-up original copies of the “Grease” soundtrack.
Local record labels Self Destruct, Sophomore Lounge and Gubbey Records will be on hand, and there will be live music performed by Chris Brokaw (former member of 1990s indie legends Come and Codeine) as well as the Jared Elmore Trio, which will be playing some old-timey music.
Food will be available from Busta Grill and, perhaps best of all, the Dreamland bar will be open and serving special bloody marys and mimosas (in addition to its usual spirits) as long as supplies last. There will also be raffles, and as an added bonus, Why Louisville will offer a 10 percent discount to any ARTxFM Record Fair attendee who shows them their stamp at checkout.
The record fair is 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is $5. If you want a first shot at the good stuff, you can get an early bird ticket for $10 and get in the doors at 10 a.m.
