Ladyfingers Catering has named Danilo Criollo as its new executive chef.

Criollo comes to Lady Fingers, which caters many of Louisville’s high-profile events including The Barnstable-Brown party, after 10 years as executive chef at Lake Forest Country Club.

He was also special event chef for Ladyfingers for 7 years.

Criollo brings more than 26 years experience in culinatry arts and international cuisine, according to a news release.

He studied computers at a Venezuelan University, but left the industry for culinary arts, according to the release.

Criollo attended the Caracas Institute’s Culinary Arts Program and went on to work at the Portou de la Abuela Restaurant in Caracas.

n 1991 he left Venezuela to expand his skills in International Cuisine, settling in Louisville at Café Mimosa.

Since that time he has served as sous chef or executive chef at several Louisville restaurants including Bobby J’s Club Café.

He has also opened two restaurants in his career in Louisville, Lasadi’s Restaurant and Yachting.

While at Bobby J’s, Criollo’s cuisine earned top reviews and was listed for 6 years on the Courier-Journal’s “20 Top Tables,” according to the release.

He also taught cooking classes for the University of Louisville.

Ladyfingers Catering is at 12901 Old Henry Road near Anchorage.
