Bourbon makes a lot of things a little better, especially shopping for a dreaded Valentine’s Day gift. Once again, Four Roses Bourbon has partnered with Nanz & Kraft Florist in St. Matthews to bring last-minute shoppers the Four Roses Flower Hour on Friday, Feb. 12.
Think of it as a happy hour held at a flower shop. There will be complimentary appetizers, a silent auction, bourbon tastings and a chance to rub elbows with Four Roses’ new master distiller, Brent Elliott. Also, the first 100 guests will receive a special gift from the bourbon company.
To sweeten the pot even more, all proceeds go to the American Heart Association. Nanz & Kraft also will have prepared flower arrangements — called “Go Red for Women” — in which $10 from each will be donated to the cause as well. Last year, Flower Hour raised more than $3,000 for the AHA.
“We look forward to this event very much each year,” said Matt Rountree, communications director for American Heart Association, in a press release. “Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, so it means a great deal to us to partner with Four Roses Bourbon and Nanz & Kraft to raise awareness about heart health, and much needed funds for our community.”
Silent auction items include limited edition bottles of Four Roses (Hint: if you win, have Elliott sign them), flower bouquets and even a hotel package at Marriott Louisville East.
The ninth annual Four Roses Flower Hour runs 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, at Nanz & Kraft, 141 Breckenridge Lane. A minimum donation of $10 is required, and you’re encouraged to wear red to celebrate both the holiday and heart health awareness.
