Last week Insider Louisville and the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) hosted a discussion on the local impact of social media influencing at The Manhattan Project. We heard from the creators behind three local social media accounts: Jeff Arsenault of HelloLouisville, J.C. Phelps of JCP Eats, and Walt and Shae Smith of West of Ninth Louisville.

Each of these accounts provided a unique perspective on how social media can be leveraged to have influence in our community – from partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits, to highlighting neighborhoods and providing a platform for citizens and their unique stories. A recurring theme around the idea of “influence” was that anyone can be influential, regardless of how large or small their audience.

Thank you to Jeff, J.C., Walt, and Shae for sharing their experiences and insights!
