For the fourth year in a row, the dog biscuit business Rocko’s Rewards will host “Dog Day” during the Douglass Loop Farmers Market. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, canine-centric organizations from around town will host various specialized booths and informational sessions.

This year, Barkstown Road and Pet First Aid & CPR will be present for the day. Owners can bring their pups for some treats from Barkstown and Rocko’s and also get valuable tips on how to deal with potential pet emergencies from certified Red Cross instructor Sara Beavin.

Local nonprofit My Dog Eats First (MDEF) will be raising funds for their mission of treating and feeding the city’s homeless pet population. They’ll be accepting donations of cat and dog food as well.

Rocko’s also will raffle a gift basket filled with their signature organic biscuits — tickets can be purchased for $1 with all proceeds going to MDEF. Rocko’s will donate 25 percent of the entire day’s sales to MDEF.
