A Louisville Metro Police Department officer has been suspended without pay for a controversial post he made on social media.
Ryan Scanlan posted the picture in question on his personal Facebook page back in July:
The professional standards unit determined that the post violated LMPD’s standard operating procedure and damaged the image of the department in the community.
Police Chief Steve Conrad ordered Scanlan to be suspended without pay for 30 days, and he removed Scanlan from his detective position and transferred him to uniform patrol.
Back in July, a Metro Corrections Officer was suspended after posting the same image on his Facebook page.
