The next Louisville Digital Association event features a national luminary from the marketing world. Author, photographer and content marketing expert C.C. Chapman will be speaking at BBC’s Bourbon Barrel Lounge on the corner of Third and Main streets.
Chapman is the best-selling author of “Content Rules” with Ann Handley and “Amazing Things Will Happen.” He has 20 years of marketing, online media and community-building experience and has worked with huge international clients like the Coca-Cola Company, American Eagle Outfitters and HBO.
“C.C. Chapman is, in many ways, the face of content marketing,” said LDA president Jason Falls. “He and his co-author Ann Handley literally wrote the book on it with Content Rules.”
Chapman hopped on the podcasting bandwagon right at its inception in 2004. He was also one of the very first “Daddy Bloggers” on the Internet. Currently he is an adjunct professor of marketing at Bentley College.
According to Falls: “He’s like Arby’s for content marketing. He has the meats.”
Chapman will be talking about the changing face of marketing and how we can catch up with the times when it comes to content marketing.
The native New Englander who lives just outside of Boston is also President of the Board at Wediko Children’s Services, which helps kids with emotional, behavioral, environmental, and learning issues.
The event is free with a cash bar and free hors d’oeuvres, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. RSVP here.
(Disclaimer: Chapman, along with Baratunde Thurston, once bought me a $50 glass of Pappy, but that did not influence my reporting.)
