Stacey Servo and Amador Delatorre III created New2Lou for people new to Our Fair City, as well for locals looking to expand their social and entertainment horizons.
Here’s their considered guidance for the weekend, which in our minds starts tonight at the New2Lou Second Wednesday Social:
Recovered from Derby yet? Ready to continue the party and meet some new people? It’s time again for the New2Lou 2nd Wed Social! This month we will be at Down One Bourbon Bar, cool new bourbon bar located one level below street level, hence the name Down One, clever right? Haven’t been to or heard of Down One Bourbon Bar? Well, lucky you, that’s what we do, introduce you to the coolest new places and folks in town.

Wednesday (5/8) New2Lou Social at Down One Bourbon Bar – It’s time again to socialize with Louisville’s finest newbies! This month we will be at Down One Bourbon Bar, brand new bar in the heart of downtown specialized in, you guessed it, bourbon! Event is free and open to the public, even if you are “Old2Lou” or “ReNew2Lou”. RSVP today.
Now – Friday (5/31) Hometown Tourist Celebration – Louisville’s Hometown Tourist Celebration encourages YOU and other Kentucky and Indiana locals to get out and “be a tourist”. Numerous area attractions, restaurants and hotels offer special discounts during the entire month of May. No excuses and no visitors necessary (WINK).
Thursday (5/9) Floyd Street Stock Exchange Street Auction – Who doesn’t love a good deal, right? The Floyd Street Stock Exchange is an auction house hosting monthly auctions. Every item is sold to the highest bidder, with no reserve or minimum price. Photos of items up bid ahead of time on their website and Facebook page.
Friday (5/10) Urban Bourbon Tour – Bourbon tastings along the Urban Bourbon Trail and transportation is provided thanks to Mint Julep Tours and the organizers YPAL . Meet at Burdorf’s parking lot between 6:30-7:00 and get ready to hit up Bourbon’s Bistro, Proof on Main, The Old Seelbach Bar, Maker’s Mark Lounge, and Bristol Bar & Grille. Tickets are $30, $40 for non-YPAL members.
Saturday (5/11) Buy Local Fair – Help Keep Louisville Weird and celebrate all things local at the 5th Annual Buy Local Fair at the Louisville Water Tower from 2-8 pm. Over 150 local vendors, live entertainment, cooking competition, craft beer and bourbon, and a rockin kids zone. Free and open to the public. $5 parking.
Sunday (5/12) Mother’s Day – There are so many great local brunch options to celebrate Mother’s Day. Here’s our top picks: Proof on Main, Brown Hotel, Winston’s at Sullivan University, Churchill Downs, Seelbach Oak Room, Belle of Louisville, Muhammad Ali Center, Bristol Bar & Grille and Rivue at the Galt House.
