Love the thrill of the big screen but prefer the comfort of your own living room? Baxter Avenue Theatre has just the thing for you in its new private screening room, which will feature 12 “leather-like” rocking recliners. Servers will be on hand during the movie to attend to your snacking needs. The screening room is a glassed-in enclosure attached to Theater One and has its own sound system, said General Manager Bryan Senteney.

The luxury chairs cost $600 each. “It’s like being at home on your couch, only with a big screen,” Senteney said. That screen is 32 feet by 27 feet.

“We were hoping to deploy the week before Thanksgiving,” said Senteny, but there may be a slight delay because some parts of the fancy new chairs are lost in the UPS system. Once they’re found and installed, they’ll be ready to go.

It’s only a $3 up-charge from usual admission (which is $9 during prime time). You can reserve it in advance or just ask to be there when you show up. Obviously, it sells out at 12 people.

Humana-232x300Humana rated best USA health care firm for which to work

Louisville’s Humana has been ranked the best health care firm at which to work, according to the website healthcareglobal.com. It is the only Kentucky firm to make the list.

Here is what the site liked about Humana:

Humana earned a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index in 2014, which recognized the company for policies and practices encouraging workplace diversity and inclusion. The company also participates in initiatives for veterans and military families.

Perks: Humana not only offers 401(k), overtime pay, personal health coaching and jury duty pay, but it also extends an employee charity matching program.”

Humana ranked above some highly regarded names in the health care game. The Mayo Clinic, for example, came in at No. 2.

IL recently noted how Humana has stepped up recruitment efforts for both finding qualified interns, and turning those interns into employees.

It seems it’s easier to find better recruits when you also are a good place to work.

Humana also ranked 10th in a June list from the same site, which ranked the top 10 global health insurance providers.
