Louisvillians have been itching to get their hands on some fresh peaches as soon as the humidity showed up this spring, and lucky for us, The Peach Truck will be here this weekend and is slated to return in July as well.
Plus, the owners Jessica and Stephen Rose, the husband-and-wife duo behind the popular fruit haul, are bringing a new cookbook with them that they will discuss in detail at Carmichael’s Bookstore on Thursday, June 27.
But first, the peaches. The fresh, Georgia peaches to be exact.
The first stop in Louisville will be on Friday, June 21, at the Tractor Supply/Hillview Peddlers Mall, 11250 Preston Hwy., from 3:30-5 p.m. And on Saturday, June 22, they’ll be at Brownsboro Hardware, 4858 Brownsboro Road, from 8-10 a.m.; at Prospect’s Brownsboro Hardware, 9521 US Hwy. 42, from noon-1:30 p.m.; and over in Jeffersonville at Rural King, 2960 E. 10th St., from 3-4:30 p.m.
And a month later, the truck returns on Friday, July 12, at Tractor Supply/Hillview Peddlers Mall from 3:30-5 p.m. And on Saturday, July 13, it’ll be at Louisville’s Brownsboro Hardware from 8-10 a.m.; at Prospect’s Brownsboro Hardware from noon-1:30 p.m.; and at Jeffersonville’s Rural King from 3-4:30 p.m.

Now, onto the cookbook.
Jessica and Stephen Rose have been operating the business from their home base in Nashville since 2012.
Each summer, they go down to Georgia in their ’64 Jeep truck and pick up pounds and pounds of the fresh fruit and then drive north, stopping through Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan delivering the sweet peaches.
The business has become so beloved, the Roses decided to compile a recipe book of all their favorite treats they make with their goods.
“The Peach Truck Cookbook: 100 Delicious Recipes for All Things Peach” officially will be released on June 25, and Louisvillians will get the first crack at the book when the Roses stop by Carmichael’s on Thursday, June 27.
They’ll not only share their favorite recipes but also tell the story behind The Peach Truck and its success. The event is free to attend and will be held at 7 p.m. Reservations are encouraged. Carmichael’s is located at 2720 Frankfort Ave.
The book retails for $28.
