There are many concerns on the minds of Louisvillians as we settle into mid-April, but this weekend, the chance of snow finally is not one of them. The coast is clear for you to crawl out of your dens and even throw on a pair of flip-flops. For real.

If you need a reason to swap out the winter coat for sunscreen, the Flea Off Market returns to NuLu all three days this weekend — April 13-15. Also, organizers are incorporating several kid-centric activities to help your spawn burn off some of that cooped-up energy.

As usual, the Flea Off will feature more than 200 area vendors, food trucks, a bar with cocktails and craft beer, live music and much more. It’s a pop-up market where people go to see and be seen — and possibly leave with anything from an ABBA record to a coaster of The Back Door to coat hanger made of bourbon-barrel staves.

And for the kids? On Saturday, there will be a free yoga class from Bala Kids Yoga for children 5 and up at 1 p.m., and it’ll continue on Sunday at 2 p.m. Also on Sunday, there will be a free climb wall courtesy of Climb NuLu from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for children 11 and under. And at noon, there will be a free puppet show by Squallis Puppeteers and friends.

The Flea Off hours of operation are:

  • Friday, April 13 — 4:30-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 14 — 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 15 — 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
And there’s also …

Looking for other ways to spend time outside? Here are a few other things going on.

Wine Walk & Shop @ Historic Downtown Jeffersonville

It’s good to walk, but it’s even better to drink wine while doing it. Jeffersonville is hosting its annual Wine Walk & Shop on Friday, April 13, from 6-9 p.m.

For a minimal admission fee ($15 advance, $20 day of), you get to stop by 10 wine-tasting stations as well as snack on some appetizers and sidewalk shop at the various stores that dot Jeffersonville’s historic downtown. Plus, you get a free glass.

If you live in Louisville, why not walk over the Big Four Bridge and get even more steps in? It also might be a good chance to ride the SkyStar Wheel before or after your wine — we recommend after.

Fleur de Flea Vintage Urban Market @ Waterfront Park

This fun little market is held a few times a year on Waterfront Park’s Festival Plaza, and this weekend it’ll return on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Vendors from all over the state will offer up vintage items like clothing, books, big garden art, records and lots more. If you’re heading downtown for the Flea Off, you might as well swing by this as well.

Cured & Crafted: Spring 2018 @ Copper & Kings Distillery

This annual event — which is free — will be held Saturday, April 14, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and feature an artisan market with products from local farmers and restaurants. Confirmed vendors include Kenny’s Cheese, Cellar Door Chocolates, Art Eatables, Bourbon Barrel Foods, Foxhollow Farm, Mile Wide, Against the Grain and many more.

Revival Vintage Market @ Gravely Brewing Co.

There’s not much info out there about this event, but we’ve scraped enough of it together to say this market will feature local and regional artisans and designers on Saturday, April 14, from noon-6 p.m. at Gravely. We have a feeling it’s free, so why not stop by and check it out. The worst that can happen is you enjoy a beer in the afternoon sun.

Louisville City FC vs. Richmond Kickers @ Slugger Field

Soccer! Support our local soccer team on Saturday, April 14, as they take on the Richmond Kickers at 7:30 p.m. It’s a “Black Out” game, so be sure to wear black, or really dark purple. We’re undefeated in our season so far, so let’s keep the momentum going. Tickets are $16.
