A few weeks ago on Black Friday, we devoted our Closing Bell column to shopping local. Along with a handful of our favorite local spots, we mentioned the $20 Art Show specifically so you’d put the date in your calendar. Since the holidays tend to make people scatterbrained and overwhelmed, we thought we’d give you a gentle reminder of the details.

The Umpteenth Annual $20 Art Show is on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Copper & Kings Distillery in Butchertown. The event starts at 6 p.m. and features gifts, collectibles, prints, textiles and lots, lots more from over 30 local artists. It’s best to arrive early, because the goods go fast.

Copper & Kings is located at 1121 E. Washington St.

Also on Saturday is Tim Faulkner Gallery‘s seventh anniversary celebration, titled Winter Arts Festival, from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Highlights at this party include live music by Lexington’s The Ford Theatre Reunion, Cincinnati’s Young Colt and our own Karsten Nelson; a costume fashion show by local designers Sarah Havens (A Costume Shop) and Pascale Cross (Louisville Bride); lots of art; and a performance from the Blue Moon Circus.

The event is sponsored by Bulleit Bourbon, so there will be a lot of that going around, and guests are encouraged to bring coats, scarves, hats and other items for the Winter Warmth Clothing Drive that benefits the nonprofit Neighborhood House.

J. Cobb's art will be available at the $20 Art Show and The Cold 40.

Finally, on Sunday, Dec. 14, head on over to Seidenfaden’s (if you still need to check people off your holiday list) for their “A Cold 40” show, which features local art under $40.

More than a dozen local artists are participating in this third annual event, and there’ll be food available from Bourbon Bent B.B.Q. The free show runs from 4-10 p.m. Seidenfaden’s is located at 1134 E. Breckenridge St.
