Paducah’s Computer Services Inc. acquired for $1.6B

Fintech firm Computer Services Inc. will be acquired by investment firms Centerbridge Partners L.P. and Bridgeport Partners for $1.6 billion. The all-cash deal is valued at $58 per share, a premium of about 53 percent on the stock’s last closing price. Computer Services provides IT servicing, digital banking, and cybersecurity management. CEO David Culbertson said the deal will help “execute our strategic plans to expand and diversify our product offerings, transform our technology to leverage the scale and resiliency of the public cloud.”

SkuVault acquired by London company

Louisville-based SkuVault, which provides inventory management software, has been acquired by London, England-based company Linnworks. Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm with over $8.1 billion of capital commitments under management, will be the majority shareholder of the combined company, according to a news release.

50,000 sq.ft. EV battery plant to come to Elizabethtown

Advanced Nano Products (ANP), which supplies carbon battery nanomaterials used in electric vehicle battery production, will build a 50,000 square-foot facility in Elizabethtown to supply EV battery plants throughout the region. The almost $50 million investment will create nearly 100 new high-paying jobs, according to Governor Andy Beshear. Since June 2020, Kentucky has seen over $8.5 billion in EV-related investments, with well over 8,000 full-time jobs announced.

Bellarmine will build health profession simulation center

Bellarmine University will receive a $1 million federal investment to expand the College of Health Professions program and create the Bellarmine Community Health Professions Simulation Training Center. The federal funding will allow Bellarmine to expand its current simulation program by hiring two additional personnel and adding advanced equipment and supplies. This will increase capacity for supporting not only more Bellarmine students but also other students in the community, primarily those at Jefferson County Public Schools.
