Firm selected to create minority business incubator

Mayor Greg Fischer announced that Louisville Metro Government has chosen woman-owned SKS Accounting & Consulting Firm to create and operate a minority business incubator. To be called The Well, the incubator will seek to grow the number of Black- and minority-owned businesses in Louisville and will focus on business development services, such as accounting, marketing and technology implementation.

$1.8M grant for stroke care programs

State partners, including UK HealthCare and the University of Louisville, have been awarded a prestigious $1.8 million Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program Grant. The award will allow the partners to coordinate and expand their stroke prevention and care programs. Kentucky has one of the highest rates of stroke-related deaths in the country, with over 2,000 Kentuckians dying each year.

Humana awards $1.7M to minority nonprofits

The philanthropic arm of Humana is focusing on health equity with a new fund. The Humana Foundation announced it is awarding $1.7 million to 15 nonprofits that have Black, Indigenous and People of Color leadership that are working to create change to benefit the health of Louisvillians.

SentryHealth buys MAP Health

SentryHealth has acquired MAP Health, a medical advocacy service provider. The move will improve employee health management for employers by uniting advanced analytics, interactive tech, and expert guidance and coordination by care advocates.
