Cloud-based energy platform Virtual Peaker has partnered with Enel X to offer smart home energy solutions to utility providers and their customers from coast to coast. The Virtual Peaker and Enel X teams have signed multi-device agreements to provide software and energy services for two innovative public utilities: Snohomish County PUD (SnoPUD) and Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC).
San Jose, Calif.-based Therma Holdings announced that it will acquire CMTA Inc., a Louisville-based engineering firm that focuses on energy efficient buildings and energy savings performance contracts for hospitals, universities, federal facilities and municipalities. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
AutoBio semifinalist in SEMA Launch Pad competition
Louisville-based startup AutoBio developed a removable window cling for the car with a code that can be scanned to get all of the car’s info on the user’s smartphone. Now the company will join 14 other semifinalists to compete in the SEMA Launch Pad competition in Las Vegas. The SEMA competition introduces budding auto industry entrepreneurs to a worldwide audience of through its annual trade show.
TALK, the Technology Association of Louisville KY, gears up on Aug. 26-27th for its 5th biennial, live, two-day event called Techfest Louisville which draws tech and business professionals looking to learn more about tech trends, tech policy, entrepreneurial breakthroughs, and how new technologies work. TALK has now been an active tech council since 2014 in the Louisville, KY area, with activities at the state and national level including participating with the CyberReadiness Institute, CompTIA, Connected Nation, Cyber.org, Teachcyber.org, and Code.org.
