Faster biopsy results
Anyone who has to wait for biopsy results knows that the days (and even weeks) of waiting to hear are excruciating. The Norton Cancer Institute has announced a new lab that will cut that amount of time. The lab uses next-generation sequencing to diagnose cancer on the premises so there’s no need to send biopsies to out-of-town labs.
Global headquarters comes to Lexington
Smart waste and recycling solutions company Rubicon Technologies is bringing its global headquarters to Lexington. The company, which has a software platform that provides solutions for waste and recycling to businesses and governments, is worth over $1 billion.
Clinical trial for children’s vaccine
The Norton Children’s Research Institute will participate in a phase 2/3 clinical trial of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to 11 years. It is the only site in Louisville offering the trial and among only 100 participating sites around the world.
GE Appliances graduates first student
The Industry 4.0 Development program has its first graduate. Speed School alum Collie Crawford just completed the two-year program, which was created by GE Appliances to address the need for technical engineering talent with Industry 4.0 skills to support their smart factories.
