UofL first to perform COPD procedure

Physicians from the University of Louisville are the first in Kentucky to perform an investigational procedure designed to help patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

Louisville production company gets investment

Resonate Recordings, a Louisville-based podcast production company, has received a $250,000 investment from Render Capital. The investment will be instrumental in helping Resonate Recordings build additional software offerings.

Funding for kitchen incubator

Chef Space, a kitchen incubator, has received grant funding from the LG&E and KU Foundation to help its efforts in increasing food access for west Louisville residents.

Reducing HFC-23 emissions

Chemical plant Chemours Louisville Works has announced its plans to implement a project to reduce emissions of HFC-23 at its manufacturing site. The project includes the design, custom-build, and installation of proprietary technology to capture at least 99% of HFC-23 process emissions.

Space tech

Lexington-based Space Tango, a firm with the goal of manufacturing health and technology products in space, is planning to launch its own miniature, automated orbital research platform.

Another kind of March Madness

UofL is competing against other university research teams in a March Madness-style bracket competition. Called STAT Madness, the competition will be about biomedical technologies.
