Robotic technology has been used in hip and knee replacements and has now moved into the world of spine surgery. Norton Healthcare has completed its 340th spinal fusion surgery using the Mazor X robotic-assisted surgical system.

Louisville firm buys agtech company

One of Louisville’s largest engineering firms has bought an equity share in an emerging agtech company. C&I Engineering says by purchasing BioProducts, LLC, the goal will be to grow each business and capitalize on new products for the state’s agricultural sector.

Fund to invest in small businesses in the West End

A $1 million investment from Charter Communications and the Hope Credit Union will help ensure that small businesses in Louisville’s West End have access to capital. The $1 million is part of a $3 million investment from Charter toward small businesses in underserved communities, with additional money going to groups in both Tennessee and Alabama.

Rubicon joins AIAA

Lexington-based environmental services company Rubicon Technologies has joined the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Nate Morris, Rubicon founder and CEO, will be appointed to the AIAA Corporate Strategic Advisory Committee, which will meet with leaders from the Department of Defense (DOD), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and NASA.
