UK and LG&E to study carbon capture tech
The University of Kentucky (UK) and LG&E have launched a partnership to study carbon capture technology at natural gas power plants. UK says development of the technology will lead to affordable, negative carbon emissions at those plants.
EdjSports purchase finalized
Champion Gaming plans to build a data and media service to help sports bettors build strategies, evaluate experts, and make better-informed wagers. The group’s first move was an acquisition of Louisville’s EdjSports, parent of the analytics platform Football Outsiders, which was finalized this week alongside the private placement.
UofL prof awarded for work in robotics
Dr. Dan Popa, director of Louisville Automation & Robotics Research Institute (LARRI) and UofL professor of electrical & computer engineering, has been selected for the Distinguished Faculty Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Research and Creative Activity in Basic and Applied Sciences. Bellarmine creates Center for Community Engagement
Bellarmine University has announced the creation of its Center for Community Engagement, which will help students connect with meaningful, purpose-driven work and experiential learning opportunities. The center will administer MobileServe, a digital tracking platform that will help the school stay informed and calculate the impact of its community engagement efforts.
BroadLoop selected for Techstars accelerator
BroadLoop, a virtual fleet logistics and dispatch intelligence platform for producers, contractors and fleet operators, has been selected to participate in the 2021 Heritage Group Accelerator powered by Techstars. FreshFry partners with OpsAnalitica
FreshFry, a food manufacturing technology startup, has partnered with OpsAnalitica, a restaurant and food safety compliance analytics platform, to help restaurants define and track sustainability.
