Editor’s Note: This Louisville Uncorked event was supposed to take place Thursday, June 22, but it was canceled due to rain. It’s now been rescheduled for Thursday, Sept. 28, so we are re-running this post with updated information.

Theologian Martin Luther once professed, “Beer is made by men, wine by God.” If you agree and prefer a sip to a chug, then you may want to grab some friends and head over to ReSurfaced, which continues its summer/fall lineup with Louisville Uncorked on Thursday.

If you’re not familiar, Louisville Uncorked is a tasting experience in which participants form teams of up to three people, bring three bottles of the same wine, and then sample blindly every else’s wines — as well as their own — to vote on a favorite. The best part is, if your wine is picked, you get to take home all the extra bottles of the night!

The idea is to open two bottles for sampling and save a third for the winning team, so you do the math.

The wine variety of this season’s Uncorked is California Whites, so start your research now or just pick the one with the cutest label featuring panda bears and penguins.

There’s also a minimum donation of $20 per person for YouthBuild Louisville, a local nonprofit that helps unemployed youth learn trade skills and improve the community.

Louisville Uncorked runs from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, at ReSurfaced, 801 E. Liberty St. It’s suggested you pre-register your team online.

Upcoming ReSurfaced events include a First Friday celebration on Oct. 6, an Oktoberfest on Oct. 14, and the Slowfood Fried Chicken Throwdown on Oct. 21.
