Mother’s Day is this Sunday, guys. So, do you cook for that special woman or women in your life, or do you take them out for a nice brunch? On one hand, cooking for someone offers such a personal touch that it is sure to mean much more for your mom or the mother of your lovely children.
On the other hand, you don’t really want to set fire to the kitchen like last time, do you? OK, brunch it is. Here are a handful of places around town with Mother’s Day brunch specials that are sure to tantalize mom’s taste buds:
RIVUE Restaurant and Lounge
RIVUE Restaurant and Lounge offers a beautiful view of the city and river from 25 stories up. Here, you can treat mom to a family-style buffet that includes a leaning tower of waffles, fresh seafood and roasted beef strip loin, herb-roasted chicken breast, an array of sides, and an assortment of desserts.

Executive Chef Jeff Bridges is preparing to bust out a pretty tasty array of Mother’s Day goodies: arugula salad, fresh fruit, fried chicken, homemade biscuits, sawmill gravy, french toast casserole, hot brown casserole, bacon, eggs to order, an omelet station and breakfast potatoes. In addition, bloody Marys and mimosas will be half-price. And did we mention there will be bourbon?
Z’s Oyster Bar
Maybe mom wants to slide a few oysters into her belly on Mother’s Day. OK, even if not, there will be a special Mom’s Day brunch menu, noon-8 p.m., along with Z’s usual lunch menu (dinner service begins at 5 p.m.). Don’t worry, Mom, you won’t have to eat shellfish or snails — Z’s has burgers and everything.
